Detoxifying Ginger WaterBerry Smoothie

What It Does
Watermelon is a great source of vitamin C, lycopene and niacin and aids in blood circulation. Blueberries are filled with antioxidants to boost the immune system and rid the body of any toxins. Ginger activates several enzymes in your body to help aid in digestion along with many other benefits. Read more about it in “Why You Should Incorporate Ginger Into Your Life“. Combining these three superfoods gives you a smoothie that will give your body a little health kick! I also added the flaxseed for some extra fiber and lettuce for an alkalized body.

Ginger Waterberry Smoothie

1/4 cup of frozen blueberries (unsweetened)
2 cups of diced watermelon
1/2 tablespoon of grated ginger
1 teaspoon of ground flaxseed
2 slices lemon, peeled and unseeded
a handful of chopped romain lettuce
a dash of salt
3 ice cubes

  1. Blend all ingredients together except for the ice cubes on low speed for approximately 30 – 40 seconds
  2. Blend on high for another 30 – 40 seconds
  3. Keep the blender on low speed and add in the ice cubes until completely dissolved

The smoothie should be completely liquified to the thinness of pulp orange juice.
